My knee-jerk opinion is that he comes with one strike against him: This is the man that presided over the committee that caused the term "to Bork" to be added to the Dictionary. He also presided over the Clarence Thomas hearings.
It remains to be seen if this ticket will present itself as unashamedly Liberal.

This guy is too conservative for me -- he LIKES Judge Alito, and voted for Scalia, Alito, and Roberts. How much more conservative can you get?Ah, well -- another year when I'll hold my nose and vote for the leasser of two evils, I suppose. ONE of these years, before I die, I am really hoping to vote for a candidate I've really been exited about -- who actually wins. I've only managed that once, when Ann Richards ran for Governor of Texas -- but it felt good.
I keep hoping it will happen again. But not this year.
